Colofonium Gum Rosin is a solid form of resin obtained from pines and some other plants, mostly conifers, produced by heating fresh liquid resin to vaporize the volatile liquid terpene components. It is semi-transparent and varies in color from yellow to black. At room temperature rosin is brittle, but it melts at stove-top temperature.
Glycerol Esters are high performance products for various market segments such as food, cosmetics, adhesives, industrial paints and road demarcation, floor waxes, flexographic paints, fruit coating among others. A typical softening point for glycerol esters is 85°C.
Pentaerythritol Ester of Gum Rosin is made from gum rosin through esterification with pentaerythritol. This product has a softening point of from 90 to 120°C, a light color, and is primarily used in adhesive products.
Fumaric Resins are used in printing inks derived from the chemical reaction of fumaric acid and rosin.
Maleic Resins are used in Paints, Surface Coating, Inks and in Varnish applications.
